Mock Up Blog
Juan
One thing I did well in my mock up was telling the main problem and the description of the main character. One thing I can do to make my project better is to explain what I think of the book better and adding more details. I think we should produce my project because it is based on a really good book and I think everyone would like it because it is right in point.

Juan "Stuck In Neutral" 5/08/09
The book that I read was stuck in neutral by Terry Trueman. This is the first book that I've read from him and he is very good. He is a very realistic author who likes to write about true stories.
The book is about a boy named Shawn who can't move. He was born like that and occasionally has seizures. He has to be taken care of like a little baby since he was born. Now he is fourteen living with his mother, brother, and sister. His dad left the family because he couldn't stand watching his son go through pain. In the book Shawn thinks that his father is trying to kill him because he was agreeing to a father who had smothered his two year old son. At the end he is alone with his father in his room and his dad has a pillow. He then has a seizure and doesn't know what's going to happen.
My favorite connection was when his brother was protecting him. It helped me understand that he loves him.
My favorite image was when he was at his sister's slumber party and was looking at the girls. This helps me understand that he has the same mind of a regular teenager.
I recommend this book to people who like realistic fiction.

Juan Dive 4/30/09
The book that I am reading is dive by Gordon Korman. This is the second book that I have read from him. He is an author who likes to write series. Also most of his books are about the sea and things people do at the sea.
The book is about four kids who they chose to dive. They were tricked into getting treasure for the captain. But there something that they are not telling the kids. If you want to know the rest you will have to finish the book.
My favorite connection was when they misjudged the crippled girl about diving. This help me understand how prejudging is not good because she was the best diver on the team.
My favorite image was when the sharks were doing a feeding frenzy next to where they were diving.
I recommend this book if you like adventure and mystery.

Juan Island 4/24/09
The book that I read was Island by Gordon Korman. Gordon is an author who likes to write series of books that are related to oceans.
The book is about six kids who are sent to a sailing program in Guam for something g they've done wrong. On the boat they have to work really hard as a team. They also have many experiences. Until one day there was a really bad storm and the captain fell over board. After the storm the kids have a broken boat that is sinking slowly. The worst part of all is that the only adult left abandoned them and took there food sail and GPS device. Then the kids fighting to stay alive accidentally blow the ship up. Now only four of the kids are on a raft with no food, water, or shelter. They fight to stay alive by drinking rain water. After three days of hallucinating they are washed up on a deserted island. If you want to find out what happens next read part two of this series.
One of my favorite connections was when one of the kids is talking about survival but no one wants to listen. Then they are asking what to do next to survive. This helps me understand how he must feel that they should've started listening to him before. That reminds me of when someone doesn't want to talk to but when they need you they try to be around you.
My favorite image is when the kids were on the raft and they were so thirsty and then it started raining. It reminded me of when I needed money and then I found twenty dollars on the floor.
I recommend this to people who like adventure and sailing books. This is also for people who like to read continuous series from the same author.
